Your public IP address
A Public IP (Internet Protocol) address is a unique numerical identifier assigned by your Internet Service Provider (ISP). It serves as your network’s external destination address on the global routing table, allowing connected local devices to communicate and exchange data packets with remote servers. For most residential connections, ISPs assign Dynamic IP addresses that recycle periodically or upon gateway reboots. Enterprise environments and dedicated network infrastructure utilize Static IPs to ensure persistent external mapping. This feature attempts an HTTP connection directly to your public IP. If your edge gateway, router, or local loop does not host an active web server listening on port 80, the browser will refuse the connection and drop the handshake. What is your Public IP Address?
